The Interface of Biology, Chemistry, and Materials Science
The Analytical Science and Engineering at Notre Dame (ASEND) Core Facility exists to help solve current, emerging, and industry-relevant problems through the creation of new capabilities in measurement science and engineering. The facility houses state-of-the-art instruments suitable for characterization and structure elucidation of chemical, materials, and biophysical samples.

ASEND is a shared-resource facility where researchers operate and collect data using a variety of state-of-the-art instruments.

ASEND services are available to Notre Dame researchers, as well as external users, for an hourly rate.
New Equipment
ASEND has acquired five new major instruments and thirteen minor instruments to support research activities at Notre Dame.
